Billy Richard Goins age 78 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday January 28, 2026 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Billy was born on September 22, 1947 in Carroll County, Virginia to Norman and Frances Early Hale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Young Goins and a son Billy Richard Goins, Jr.

He is survived by his son Greg Goins of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Nancy Crockett of Galax, Virginia; Betty and Raymond Newman of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; brothers and sisters-in-law Bobby and Mary Kinzer of Texas; Lloyd and Carrie Hale of Galax, Virginia; one grandson Caleb Blevins of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; special friends Nancy Castillo and Yolando Castillo.

The funeral service will be held Monday, February 9th at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Bishop Barry Early and Bishop Charles Millner officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, February 9th from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
