James HIGBEE Obituary

James A. Higbee of Phoenix, Maryland, passed away on October 21, 2024. Jim was the loving husband of his wife of 47 years, Kathryn Higbee; father of Joanna Higbee (Jamie Young) of Phoenix, MD, and Elizabeth Dempsey (Conall) of Somerville, MA; and grandfather of Lachlan James Dempsey.

Originally from Boston, MA, Jim was a CPA and ultimately became a partner in the Towson accounting firm Rowles & Co, LLP. An avid golfer, Jim was a founding member of the Country Club of Maryland, where he also served on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and held the officer role of Treasurer. He was a years-long volunteer and supporter of the American Cancer Society, provided his accounting talents to the Credit Unions of Maryland and the Maryland Pregnancy Center North, and served on the Parish Council, Finance Committee, and as a lector at Immaculate Conception Church.

? A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, Towson, MD. Private interment and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
