Doyle Cook Obituary
Doyle Clement Cook, age 100, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on July 29, 2025.
Doyle was born August 23, 1924 to the late Claude and Marion Cook. He is also preceded in death by a sister Naomi (Dean) Baker. Doyle lived his early life farming on his parent's farm in Waldo. Doyle then graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1950. During his days as a college student he also worked on the farm in Waldo with his dad. After graduating college, Doyle married Marjorie Erdeen Augenstein in 1950. Doyle and Marge both continued their education while working on the Waldo farm. Marge graduated from the White Cross Nursing School, while Doyle obtained his Chiropody degree in 1954. They worked together at the podiatry practice in Marion for almost 40 years.
Marge died in 1999 and Doyle then reconnected with a high school acquaintance and fell in love with her. Doyle and Jeannette (Augenstein) Groll married in 2000 and were married for ten years until Jeannette died in 2010. He leaves behind three step-children and their spouses: Diane and Pat Street, Pam and Jim Ellis, and Roger and Kathy Groll, as well as numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doyle remained active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waldo. He had previously held the office of Deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Marion where he was a member for fifty years.
Throughout his lifetime, Doyle remained active in the Marion Community. He also actively farmed until the last few years of his life. Doyle was a life-long Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.
Doyle is survived by his daughter, Karen (Cook) Khazan, MD and her husband, Uri Khazan. Also surviving is his son, Matthew Cook, MD and his wife Cindy (Thomas) Cook. Doyle leaves behind four grandchildren: David Cook, MD (wife Karli), Amy (Cook) Andryc, RN (husband Jon Andryc), Ana Khazan, MD, Olivia Khazan, Pharm D. He also leaves behind three great-grandsons: Calvin and Sullivan Cook and Bohden Andryc.
Doyle's faith remained strong until the end and he knew his Lord and Savior would be awaiting his arrival.
The family wishes to thank Kingston of Marion and Tranquility Hospice. The care and love Doyle received was very much appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Mid-Ohio Food Bank or the Palace Cultural Arts Association.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M., on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel; 360 E. Center Street, Marion, OH 43302. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at the Waldo Cemetery.
