Steven Shafor Obituary
July 3, 1945 - May 29, 2025
Weston, Florida - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Shafor, 79, on May 29, 2025. A loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family dearly. He was born in Herrin, IL and raised in North Miami. He graduated from North Miami High School in 1963. Steve graduated the University of Florida Pharmacy School and he became a 3rd generation Pharmacist.
Preceded in death by his mother, Jane Ann Shafor and father, Gordon Shafor. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Shafor, daughter Kimberly Shafor (Michael Martinez), son, Michael (Kelly) Shafor, stepdaughter Leslie (Michael) Tobin, stepson Michael (Shannon) Hauser, sister Pamela (James) Sanborn and brother Michael Shafor. Grandchildren Devyn Dohner (Andrew Miranda), Katelyn Dohner, Bryce Hauser, Natalie Hauser, Josh Tobin, Drew Tobin, Eli Tobin and ex wife, Virginia (Wayne) Knowles.
Steve owned Pharmacies in Dade, Broward and Collier Counties. As much as he loved being a Pharmacist, his true passion was coaching High School football, He was privileged to coach football at Miami country day School, Community School of Naples and St. John Neumann in Naples, FL His main goal was to mentor these young men to become the best they could be, not only on the field, but in their future lives. His players always had the utmost respect for him, as he did for them.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 11 between 2:00-4:00 at The Palace at Weston, 16025 Emerald Estates Drive, Weston, FL 33331. If you would like to make a donation in Steve's memory, please do so, to The Alzheimer's Association.

I coached with Coach Shafor at St. John Neumann High School in Naples.
He was a friendly, funny, generous, and all around great guy who loved the kids that he coached.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Steve. I knew him and Lynn years ago when I was married to Dennis Webb a childhood friend of Steve´s. I always liked Steve. He was so kind to me.. my condolences to Lynn and his entire family. Debbie Webb

Steve´s smile, positive attitude, and lively personality made him stand out in junior high at Thomas Jefferson and at North Miami High. Always the gentleman, he looked like and reminded me of my daddy. He knew that and that he was special to me always. Steve was a true leader, and I cherish the Powder Puff Football preparation time and practices when we were so young and physically and mentally fit!
