Akiko Nakamoto Obituary

AKIKO MARY NAKAMOTO There are no adequate words to ease the loss of someone so loved. Akiko was born on October 9, 1923 and passed away on October 28, 2025 at the age of 102 at KaPunawai Ola. She was born in Naalehu, Hawaii to Uemon and Kimi (Mitsunaga) Nishiyama. She lived most of her life in Honolulu. She lived her life with resilience, grace and love. She was a caregiver to her mother, then her brother and finally her husband. Akiko was pre-deceased by her husband, Fred Morito Nakamoto of Paia, Maui. Mom left this life surrounded by her family and the wonderful, caring staff of KaPunawai Ola. She is survived by two daughters, Freda Nakamoto and Mae (Glenn) Yoshinaga and two grandsons, Matthew and Landon Yoshinaga. Private services were held on December 16, 2025.
