ALLEN CLIVE GOMES (January 12, 1939 - February 9, 2026) Allen Clive Gomes, age 87, of Kailua, passed away peacefully at his home on February 9, 2026 surrounded by the loving presence and care of his family. His home of 65 years was a place he built, cherished, and filled with memories. Allen is survived by his sons, Allen Gomes Jr. and Burton Gomes; his daughter-in-law Tiffany Gomes; his grandchildren Brittany Paepule and Colton Gomes; and his three great-grandchildren Mateo-Cruz, Manoah, and Maila Paepule. Born on January 12, 1939, in Honolulu to Adam and Edna Gomes, Allen was raised in Kaimuki. In 1961, he moved to Kailua, where he built his family home and established a long and respected career in construction. A dedicated member of the Hawaii Masons Union, he worked as a Masonry Foreman and took great pride in his craftsmanship. He valued his years with Hirano Brothers Ltd. and Mitsunaga Construction Co., where his skill, leadership, and commitment to excellence earned him the respect of colleagues and friends. A perfectionist who held himself to the highest standards. Allen was known for his strong work ethic and determined spirit. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was admired for his sense of humor and his exceptional artistic creativity with his hands. He found joy in creating, building, and sharing his talents with those he loved. Allen is deeply missed and will remain forever in the hearts and memories of his family and all who knew him.
