Allen Shinsato Obituary

ALLEN KATSUMI SHINSATO 79, of Kaneohe, passed away on October 25, 2023. He was born on June 20, 1944 to Edward and Faith Shinsato. After graduating from Kalani High School, he went to the University of Hawaii, graduated with an accounting degree, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. He served on several bases, the last being in Thailand. He married his wife, June Iwamoto in 1973, and after retiring from the Air National Guard, he worked for the UH Tropical Agriculture Department. When he retired again, he enjoyed golfing, traveling, gardening, and playing with his grandkids. Al is survived by his wife of 50 years, June, his daughter Wendee (Ebi Saberi), daughter Marisa, son Gerick (Stacey), grandkids twins Sam and Sophie Saberi, grandkids twins Theo and Luna Shinsato, and sister Sandra Hu. Visitation: 5pm, Service: 6pm on Tuesday November 7, 2023 at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, East Chapel. Private inurnment. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
