ALVIN BORGES Obituary

ALVIN G. BORGES 89, of Hilo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at his care home. Born in Honolulu, HI. He owned numerous businesses during his lifetime. He started his career in the Marines. During his lifetime, he owned a gas station, bar, restaurant and was the founder of Commercial Shelving Inc. in 1964. In retirement, Alvin moved to Hilo and enjoyed golfing at the Hilo Municipal Golf course. Alvin is predeceased by his son Arnold. Survived by sons Alvin Borges Jr, of Honolulu, HI, Alan (Lisa) Borges, of Honolulu; Daughters Donna (Russell) Montibon, of Hilo, Debra Borges of Honoka'a, Michelle (Alfred Jr) Souza of Honolulu. 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be held in Honolulu on Friday, July 12, 2024 at St John Vianney Church in Kailua, HI. Public Visitation 10:00am, Mass 11:00am
