ANDREW PAUL STUBER Andrew (Andy) Stuber passed away on October 2, 2023 at Straub Clinic in Honolulu at the age of 72. He attended Santa Clara University and received his BA in Philosophy. Andy had worked in banking for over 40 years starting off with International Savings in their marketing department and as a Branch Manager at several of their branches. He had worked in the loan industry for over 37 years with International Savings, City Bank (Pacific Access Mortgage) and finally with Central Pacific Bank as Vice President, Senior Mortgage Loan Officer. His interest in Eastern Philosophy led him to the Chozen-ji temple in Kalihi Valley, where under the tutelage of Tanouye Tenshin Rotaishi he trained in Zen Buddhism for many years and was ordained as a Zen Buddhist Priest. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jeanette Stuber, and survived by his daughter Leia Stuber of Honolulu, sister JoAnne Stuber-Skipper (Calvin), nieces Sarah Skipper and Rachel Hopper of South Carolina and his beloved Shiba Inu, Chino. Other family members include LeeAnn Kashiwai, Lynn Kashiwai (Fred DeCann) and Mark Kaneshiro. Private services were held. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
