Arnold Pereza Obituary

ARNOLD PEREZA On the morning of February 22, 2024, Arnold fell asleep in Christ with his wife at his side. He was born on April 4, 1942 to Santiago Pereza and Ella Pak Chong on the Valley Isle of Maui in the town of Huiaha. Arnold was the youngest of ten children (Edward, Alfred, Raymond, Nelson, Audrey, Irene, Santiago Jr., Theodore and Samson). At the age of 5 his parents moved the family to Kailua, Oahu where he grew up, attended Kailua High School where he met his future life long partner Leona Ronolo-Pereza. On March 2 they would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Arnold attended Honolulu Community College to earn his certification as a Journeyman glazier. After 25 years of employment with The Fuller O'Brien Paint and Glass Company, Arnold retired in 1992. He was a member of the Glaziers and Glass Workers Union AFL-CIO Local 1889. Arnold was active in his community and church. He loved fishing, traveling, attending sports activities of his sons, grandchildren and great grand nephews as they were growing up. In recent years he and his wife were powerlifting competitors in the World Association of Bench and Dead Lifters in which their world records still remain. Arnold is survived by his wife Leona Ronolo-Pereza, sons Julian Pasco Kaipo (Jadine) Pereza, and Jerome Leland Kaleo (Kelly) Pereza. He also leaves seven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Valley of the Temples main chapel on March 20, 2024. Visitation at 5pm, Service at 6pm. At his request scattering of ashes will take place at Kailua Beach, which he called his playground at a later date. He is being missed sincerely. A hui hou my love.
