It's September, 2024... A few nights ago I was shaken and very sad to read of the passing of Artie in 2021. A great shining part of his life was Jenny and Artie coming full circle in their love for each other, marrying in 2007 after the passage of many years. Miraculous and wonderful! Love to Jenny and Artie Always I attended Leeward Community College in the early 70s and eventually became a puppeteer in "Animal Crackers", alongside Artie, Lorna, James, Ken and, later, Susan. Doug Kaya was the Director and wonderfully looked after us. It was a fun vibrant time! During college Artie created and performed solo a dance with martial arts influences, accompanied by pulsating psychedelic lighting. We were wowed! My first slow dance of my life was with Artie. We were all at a nightclub on Kauai or Maui, after a day of "Animal Crackers". Artie encouraged a very shy and nervous me to join others on the dance floor and never minded the possibility I'd step on his toes. Smooth sailing, thanks to gentle Artie. After he moved to Colorado we kept in touch for a year or two, sending letters of what was happening in our lives and sending goofy greeting cards--the funnier and zanier, the better! Thank You Forever, Artie Dacoscos, for blessing my life ~ Shaka, Brah ~ Peace & Aloha, Vernie

I trained with Al Dacascos, Ben Dacascos and Arthur Dacascos in the 70's in Denver, Colorado. Arthur (or Art) as we called him was a humble, sincere and dedicated Martial Artist who had managed to achieve the highest level of internal energy (CHI). I remember once at Ben's School, he had kicked a 150 lb. bag using his CHI energy and sent the bag high into the ceiling. Man, was I astonished! He humbly chuckled at my amazement, turned and calmly walked away. That was the kind of person he was. Humble, peaceful, calm and highly intelligent. I will miss him. His friend, Gabriel.
