BARBARA B.J., BOBBIE JO JOYCE PEHIKULANI MOWAT ANGELO Barbara Joyce Pehikulani Mowat Angelo, descended from the Kekaulike line and House of 'I, went to heaven on April 27, 2024. She was born March 24, 1944 in Lanikaula, Moloka'i to Dorothy Kaleoaloha (Titcomb, Bertelmann, Lewis) Mowat and William Paul Mowat. She is predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Harry James Mowat and Karl Anthony Mowat who escorted her to that big luau in the sky for a heavenly firsss one! BJ graduated in 1962 from Kamehameha School, married her sweetheart in 1965 and raised her ohana in Ewa Beach. She retired from the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and was a proud member of the Federal Managers Association. She was also active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society of the Colonial Dames XVII Century. She volunteered as a docent at the Bishop Museum, was a lifetime learner and socializing was her beloved activity. Her favorite hula was E Huli Makou and Wahine 'Ilikea, she was a world traveler till her last days earthside and adored her ohana which includes generations of hanai. She is survived by her partner in life and husband of 59 years, Norman Angelo from Honoka'a along with their children; Lorra (Jerry) Naholowa'a, Nomana (Rose) Angelo and Reina (Josh) Kukar. Her Mo'opuna; Joseph (Mallory) Naholowa'a, Tiani Naholowa'a, Keali'i (Desiree) Angelo, Keanu Angelo, Ehikulani Kukar, Kekoa Kukar, Poki'i Kukar, she was their Grammy. Her Mo'opuna Nui or Mo'omo'o as she called them; Jesse Hoku'ala, Amor, Keali'i, Kalani, Anessa and Maile called her Kuku. BJ is also survived by siblings Billy (Pat) Mowat & Gayla (Rick) Mowat-Preston. Sisters-in-law; Bridget Kalua Mowat & Deldrine (Snappy) Mowat. She is deeply missed and eternally loved. Her service is on Saturday, August 10 at OLPH Church in Ewa Beach. Join us in celebrating her during visitation at 10am and mass at 11am. Mahalo nui for loving her.
