BETTY DALY Betty E Daly (Ross), age 88, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family in December 2025. She lived between
Honolulu, Hawaii and Kimberling City, Missouri. Betty was born in
Kansas City, Kansas. She attended Kansas State Teacher College, where she pursued a career in education. Betty worked tirelessly to pay her own way through school, beginning with a job at Montgomery Ward a role she remembered fondly for the rest of her life. She later followed her calling into special education. In the late 80's Betty and Bill worked tirelessly with the Save Sandy Beach Coalition. Their success was admired at the many full moon rises they enjoyed there at Sandy Beach. This love of the mahina (the moon) led to the name of her eventual home based silk screening company Full Moon Images. This allowed Betty to be a stay at home, yet working mother as she tirelessly raised their three girls. While in college, Betty met the love of her life, Bill. The two married and moved to Boston to begin their life together. Throughout their many decades of marriage, Betty supported Bill as he built his business, Voter Contact Services, and as he lived courageously with the effects of polio. In 1966, their journey brought them to Hawaii, a place that quickly became their forever home. Over the years, they opened their home to many who needed a safe place to hang out, or even to livefor a night, or even a few years. They welcomed all with open arms; and friends soon became family. Betty is survived by her brother, George (Vicki) Ross, her three daughters, Martha (Jeff) Levine, Sara (Eric) Hamakawa and Malia (Jay) Kahale. Her four grandchildren, Tigan (Cebarn) Carroll, Perry Levine, Alyssa Kahale (Maika Martinez) and Nicole Kahale (Wyatt Rita). In addition she had five great-grandchildren, Kaspian, Parker, Jameson, Azalea and Lennox; and her niece and nephews, Mary (Anthony) Franco, Aaron Ross, and Kyle (Sophie) Ross. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Daly. Betty will be remembered for her unwavering love of friends, family, her pets and her passion for bass fishing. If you knew her well, you knew of her devotion to the Kansas City Chiefs and KU Jayhawks, and University of Hawaii Men's basketball teams, and her daily texting "Family Wordle Gang" competition. There are the many cherished memories she and Bill made at their lake home in Missouri. Annual family trips were filled with boating, porch sunsets, card games, and laughter. A lifetime of memories. Her greatest joy was time spent with family and she leaves them with memories that feel like home. Private services will be held a later date.
