Bettylou Schauer Obituary

BETTYLOU E. DEBEAULEAUX SCHAUER Bettylou E. (deBeauleaux-King) Schauer passed away peacefully into Heaven on May 12, 2024 at her home in Laguna Woods, CA. Bettylou was born and raised in Seattle, WA. She was a proud graduate of Queen Anne High School in Seattle. She raised 6 wonderful children in Bellevue, WA. Bettylou, and her late husband Fred, moved to her beloved Hawaii in 1968 where she resided for over 35 years. After Bettylou and Fred went their separate ways in Hawaii, Bettylou met John, to whom she was married at her passing for over 52 years. Bettylou thoroughly enjoyed life (Las Vegas, video poker and "Black Russian" cocktails), as well as her family. She had quite an inspiring, as well as admirable career. She was a Public Relations Director, Assistant Administrator, Director of Volunteer Services for several Hospice Organizations, Special Projects Coordinator and Family Support Facilitator for Borthwick Mortuary in Honolulu, and, her pride and joy - Owner/Operator of "The Sand Witch Restaurant and Lounge" in Kihei, Maui. Bettylou loved to entertain and dance. Her Aunt Daphne Pollard was a Vaudeville/Silent Film Star who was quite a famous comedienne of that era as well as the first "Golden Potlatch Festival Queen" of Seattle, WA in 1911 (Bettylou was just like her Aunt Daphne). Bettylou is survived by her husband John of Orange County, CA, Daughter Judy, Sons Skip, Michael, Kelly, Patrick and Fritz, numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great- Great-Grandchildren - quite the legacy. A private Celebration of Life will be held October 12, 2025, which will include the committal of Bettylou's cremated remains to the sea off of Waikiki Beach, her favorite beach. In Bettylou's own words, "Too Muckin Futch" - "I Had the Time of My Life ...".
