BLANCHE DECONTE Obituary

BLANCHE L. DECONTE Blanche Leina'ala (Elderts) DeConte, passed away on Dec 14, 2025, at the age of 90 years. Born in Puna on the Island of Hawai'i, Blanche attended Pahoa High. In 1953, she and her husband George moved to Honolulu where they would raise their six children. In the 1980s, Blanche and George retired to the Big Island in Kapoho. Then, in the early 2000s, they moved back to O'ahu to live out the remainder of their Golden Years. Blanche is survived by: her daughter Brenda (Bill); sons Gerard (Terri), Gregg (Sonya), Garner, and Guy (Ammar); 11 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. A private burial (along with her husband's ashes) will be held at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (also known as Punchbowl Cemetery) in late February. A private Celebration of Life will be held in Honolulu immediately after the burial; a separate Celebration of Blanche's and George's lives together will be held at a later date on the Big Island.
