CALVIN LOO Obituary

CALVIN KH LOO Calvin, 96, was born in September 1926 in Honouliuli, Ewa, to immigrant parents, Loo Hoon and Hee Shee Loo, deceased. He was the second oldest and first son of his parents, who had a watercress farm. His siblings were Linda Chock, Irma Chong, Gary Loo, Gordon Loo, Bay Loo, Marilyn Chun, and Franklin Loo. Linda, Gary, Gordon and grandson Jenson Loo predeceased him. Calvin began his lifelong interest in aviation at Hickam Air Force Base. During his long tenure at Aloha Airlines, he was awarded four Federal Aviation Administration awards for his contributions to aircraft safety and maintenance. His work and innovations so impressed Mr. T. C. Hwoo; founder and president of Far Eastern Air Transport, that Calvin was asked to instruct his employees. He spent ten summers teaching and vacationing in Taipei, Taiwan sharing his ideas and knowledge. He is survived by his wife Mee Quai, son Jeffrey, daughter Jackie, brothers Bay and Franklin, sister Irma and Marilyn, daughter-in-law Naty, sisters-in-law Linda Loo, Dorothy Loo, and Betty Loo, brother-in-law Herbert Chun and step-grandson Bradley Lamug. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, loving and kind friends and neighbors. Services were held at Mililani Memorial Park in May, 2023.
