CARIDAD SHIRLEY "SALING" DEL ROSARIO Our beautiful mom, Shirley, left peacefully on August 2, 2023, at the age of 96 surrounded by family. She will always be remembered as a free spirit and a caring individual who lit up a room with her vivacious presence and effervescent smile. Shirley was born to plantation life in Honokaa on the Big Island. In her early adulthood she moved to Honolulu and later resided in Mililani until she passed. Shirley was artistic, creative and imaginative. She was an exceptional seamstress who designed her clothing and was a skillful ceramicist. Shirley was passionate about her home and garden and shared her flowers and harvests. She was a member of the Women's Guild at St. John Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church where she was known for always wearing hats and dressing smartly. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Ben and siblings Diego, Mariano, Jaime and Alfred; followed in death by her beloved dog Ipo. She is survived by her children: Patricia Lumoya, Recalte "Rick" Navarro, Bernadette "Bernie" del Rosario-Simmons (Lucky Garcia), and Cheryle Wolfe, as well as by her sweet fur baby Reyna. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, St. John Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church in Mililani. Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Eulogy: 10:30 a.m.; Mass: 11:00 a.m. Burial: 1:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park.
