Carl Boyer Obituary

CARL WRIGHT BOYER, JR. MD Carl passed away peacefully with family by his side on October 15, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1929 in Allentown, PA. Carl spent most of his career as a radiation oncologist at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, where he started Nae'a, the Radiation Oncology Department, in the early '70s. He was the Medical Director of Nae'a for many years. An Army veteran, Carl served in the Vietnam War as the Commanding Officer of an Evacuation Hospital. Carl attended Jefferson Medical College in PA, which is where he met Marge, his wife of 70 years, while she was in nursing school. He was a ham radio enthusiast, ran marathons, and enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing with Marge after his retirement. Carl is survived by his wife Marjorie Boyer (n?e Roberts); children Lynne Domokos-Boyer (R?ka), Cherie Medeiros (Milton), Pam Merez (Gino), Jill Gaspar (Ross), and John Boyer (Jacque); sister Margie Neville; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces; and a nephew. A Celebration of Life will be held at Arcadia Retirement Residence at 1434 Punahou St. on Monday, November 24th from 10am-12pm. Carl's ashes will be scattered on a later date.
