Carmen Neilson Obituary

CARMEN GANHINHIN NEILSON December 22, 1941 - August 8, 2025 Carmen was born in Kaimuki to Richard Ganhinhin and Constance Gongob. She was a graduate of Sacred Hearts. She went on to higher education later in life at Chaminade University, and became the first in her family to receive a Master's Degree. After that, she was a social worker at CPS and eventually went on to become a child advocate in the DOE system. Carmen passed away peacefully at home due to complications from heart issues. She was preceded in life by her parents; her brothers, Randy and Lee Roy; and her husband, Arthur Neilson Jr. She is survived by two sons, Alika Winter and Kawika Winter, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 21, 2025, at Elks Club in Waikiki from 9-11:30am. Attendees are requested to come dressed as a color of the rainbow.
