CAROLYN KATHRYN COLIN On July 30, 2025, Carolyn Kathryn Colin of Kailua peacefully passed away surrounded by all her children. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Dan. She was 87. Born Carolyn Kathryn Graner in Canby, Minnesota in 1937, she was the eldest of five children of the late Alfred and Mary Graner. Carolyn was adventurous and drawn to the sun. After graduating from St. Cloud State College in 1959, she left Minnesota for California, where she began her teaching career. It was in San Francisco that she met Dana match truly made in heavenand they married in 1962. Their dreams grew with the arrival of a son, followed by two daughters. In 1974, Carolyn embraced adventure again when Dan's work brought their family to Hawaii. Once settled in Kailua, they never looked back, making it their lifelong home. Carolyn devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She embraced being a stay-at-home mother, creating a loving home that allowed her husband and children to pursue their dreams and achieve their goalssomething she considered her greatest accomplishment. In her free time, she enjoyed the company of friends, especially on the golf course. She will be deeply missed by many. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Mary, her sister Alice Mae, and her husband Dan. Carolyn is survived by her three children: Brian Colin of Winthrop, WA; Mary Stidham of Bellingham, WA; and Kathy Latham of St. Pete Beach, FL; along with her four cherished grandchildren, Malia, Ian, Lily, and Ale'a. She is also survived by her three brothers: Jim, Larry, and Ken. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 148 Makawao Street, Kailua. A gathering in the church hall will follow the service. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
