Francis Sincere, Ret. Hunan Resources VP, KP Colorado

March 6, 2026

Kaki was an inspiration to me as we worked at Kaiser Permanente from the 1980s through the early 2000s; Kaki in Hawaii and I in Colorado. She always looked for ways to improve the lives of staff at KP and made her Human Resources Dept. a model for the rest of us throughout KP nationally. She did not just speak about how to treat the people of KP better, but was successful in supporting a culture of "Taking Care of Patients and Employees like Family"...a lasting legacy of hers that I´m sure still resonates in KP´s health care operations in Hawaii.
Kristen, as I am so sorry for the loss of your loving Mom. I´d like to share that when Kaki and I talked about our families, she always gave me an update on how well you were doing and how proud she was of you. When she visited Colorado for an HR meeting in the early 90s I recall that she visited the CU campus in Boulder,CO to scope out the curriculum there for you. I know you went elsewhere, but to me it was an example of how Kaki always looked into the details of things that would affect the lives of others and share her heartfelt recommendations.
To Kaki...
We love you Kaki, we will miss you and you´ll never be forgotten!
