CAROLYN KAKI CHRISTIE TRAMMELL JENNINGS Carolyn "Kaki" Jennings passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, colleague, and friend, she was known for her compassion, integrity, and gift for uplifting others. Born and raised in Virginia, Kaki carried the warmth, resilience, and grounded spirit of her early years. Her journey later took her to Thailand, where she developed a love for travel, culture, and the wider world. Though she explored many places, it was Hawai'i that captured her heart. She made the islands her home for more than 50 years, building a life rooted in community, service, and appreciation for its people and beauty. A lifelong teacher and counsellor, Kaki began her career in Hawai'i at Chaminade University. She later devoted 32 years to Kaiser Permanente Hawai'i as Vice President of Human Resources, where she was known for innovative leadership and for advancing opportunities for women. A gifted mentor, she invested deeply in the growth of staff and physicians, helping many reach their fullest potential. A woman of strong faith, Kaki was connected to both First Presbyterian Church and the United Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Jennings Graff, son in law Wes, grandsons Wyatt and Vaughan of Singapore, and her cherished older brother Charlie Trammell of Memphis, TN. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 18, 2026, at the Ko'olau Ballrooms (Visitation 3-4 p.m., Program 4-5 p.m., Fellowship 5-6 p.m.).
