Celia Fraticelli Obituary

CELIA FRATICELLI Celia Mae Fraticelli (Rivera) of Kalaheo, Kaua'i passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024 at her home in Kalaheo. Celia was born on Oct 6, 1936 in Lawai, Kaua'i, the daughter of Emilio and Salome Rivera (Baptista). She was a loving wife of 68 years, mother to 7 children, and the owner of Celia Mae's Hairstyling in Kailua, O'ahu and later in Ele'ele Shopping Center. Celia graduated from Kaua'i High in 1953, and then earned a cosmetology degree from Honolulu Beauty College in 1954. She fell in love with Herman Fraticelli of Honolulu and they were married on August 4, 1956 at the Lihue United Church on Kaua'i. Celia especially loved supporting her children in all their athletic endeavors from team mother to being directly involved in booster club activities and fundraising for their sports teams. Celia was very talented and had several hobbies including painting, bowling, quilting and she had a genuine love of gardening which she continued to share with her friends and family. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially the Phase 10 card game, and was later named the Phase 10 Queen. She was also a great cook and known for her pasteles, arroz con gandules and sweetbread. Celia was preceded in death by her parents Emilio and Salome (Baptista) Rivera, her brother Robert (Bobby) Rivera and her sister Selma Rivera. She is survived by her husband Herman Fraticelli Sr, brother Charles Rivera, children Herman "Rocky" (Teresa) Fraticelli Jr, Allan (Cathy) Fraticelli, Dennis (Ayako) Fraticelli, John Fraticelli, Sally (Oliver) Hopkins, Carl (Sandra Bollozos) Fraticelli and Duane (Kanani) Fraticelli, 9 grandchildren Jason (Amber) Fraticelli, Jackie Fraticelli, Sophia (Andy) Cooper, Celene (Mikayla) Fraticelli Habibi, Andre Fraticelli, Carlos Fraticelli, Alize Fraticelli, Exodus Fraticelli and Giuliana Bollozos-Fraticelli, as well as 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
