CHARLES STONE Obituary

CHARLES EDWARD STONE, III Charles Edward Stone, III, 85, of Kaneohe, Hawaii, passed away on August 31, 2023, at home with his beloved wife, Iwalani, by his side. He was born to Charles Edward Stone, Jr. and Bertha Anne Van Sant Stone on May 6, 1938, in Honolulu. Charlie grew up on Kaneohe Bay and was an avid waterman. He graduated from Kamehameha School for Boys in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army for nine years in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. Charlie was Staff Commodore and life member of both the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and Kaneohe Yacht Club, Past District Director of IOBG District 6, charter and life member of Pearl City Elks Club, and a member of the Kaneohe Lions Club. Known as the "Best Papa Ever" by his grandchildren, Charlie was a general contractor by trade and lived life to its fullest. Charlie is survived by his wife, lifetime friend and greatest love, R. Iwalani Stone, as well as his sisters Louise P. Wolcott and Mary Jane Betschart; his daughters Kymberlee Malia Stein (grandchildren Brandon, Destin, Kaitlyn, Dakotah, Taylor), D. Kanani Silva (grandson Israel P. Santana) and Karla K. (Travis Park) Silva-Park (grandchildren Keahelaumakanimaikahuaomalio L. Silva and Logan Kilinaheleiohu O. Park) and grandson Adam Bedrossian; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and great-granddaughter. He is predeceased by sister Elizabeth Ann (Betty Ann) Stone and children Charles E. (Chucky) Stone IV, Cathleen (Cathy) Stone and Christine Noenoe (Noe) Stone. A private family service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Celebration of Life will be held at Kaneohe Yacht Club on Sat., Sept. 16, 2023, from 4-7 p.m.

Our Flotilla knew Charlie Stone, he was a member of Flt 14. He was an Active member, twice elected as a Commodore, he always had a smile wherever he went and was always willing to help others. We will miss him, we offer our condolences to his wife and family. Roderick Oishi IPFC
