Chieko Tachihata Obituary

CHIEKO TACHIHATA born on April 20, 1936 in Kahuku, died on February 12, 2026. Chieko was Hamilton Library's Hawaiian and Pacific Collections curator at UH Manoa, and aided many researchers from Japan and across the US who were able to publish their work with her professional expertise. She obtained her PhD in Library Science at the University of Southern California in 1981 and retired from UH in 1999. She is survived by her sister Mae Tachihata Harris (Donald), nephew Arthur, and niece Susan. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
