Claudette Reid Obituary

CLAUDETTE MIKAKO (OMIYO) REID Peacefully passed on May 15, 2024, at the age of 88 while at Straub Hospital with daughter Lylah by her side. She was born in Honolulu and lived in Kaimuki since the age of 5. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and The University of Hawaii. She worked at Hawaiian Airlines in the 1960's, a private office of Psychiatry for many years and retired from the C&C of Honolulu at HPD in 2006. Her love for gardening, animals, history and board or table games occupied her time during retirement. Her empathy and ability to listen with compassion drew many to bond and lean on her. She was an exceptional cook and found joy and satisfaction watching us enjoy her delicious meals, while teaching us along the way. She is survived by daughters: Ursula Reid and Lylah (Cree) Reid-Akana, grandchildren: Mark (Miriam) Pinho, Jr, Vanessa Pinho and Baylee Akana, great-gran- dchildren: Kekai, Marky-Boy, Marissa and George, pets: Chocolate and Kitty. Her ashes will be scattered privately, and a tree will be planted for her in her memory. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
