COLLEEN ULULANI JAY NICHOLAS Colleen Ululani "CO" Nicholas, nee Jay, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 4, 2025, in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the age of 72. After a courageous battle with cancer and other illnesses, she is now at rest and in peace with our Lord. Born on November 9, 1952, in Honolulu, Colleen was a proud daughter and oldest child of Henry Choy Jay and Joanna Kam Ho Lum Jay. She grew up surrounded by the beauty of the islands and the warmth of her family. A 1970 graduate of Kailua High School, Colleen remained a devoted Surf rider throughout her life and cherished the lifelong friendships she formed with many of her classmates. Colleen built a meaningful career rooted in dedication and service. She worked as a law clerk at King and King Attorneys at Law before transitioning into real estate as an escrow officer at Long and Malone Escrow. Her professionalism and attention to detail earned her the respect of colleagues and clients alike. She was deeply loved by her family. Colleen is survived by her beloved husband, Harryson Gabe; sons Scott (Tiffany) Kato and Kainoa (Lindsie) Kato; brothers Gary (Lisa), Peter (Diane), Keahi (Keilyn), and Jared Jay; nine grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry forward her memory with love. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11, 2025, in Kailua, Hawaii. Services will take place before the spreading of her ashes and are reserved for family and close friends. Those attending are welcome to bring flowers or leis in honor of Colleen-gestures that would be deeply appreciated. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
