Corey Shibata Obituary

COREY SHIBATA Corey Shibata, a beloved husband, father and son, died on January 8, 2025. He was 55 years old. Corey was a proud alumnus of 'Iolani School (1987) and the University of Hawai'i at Manoa (1992). He worked for the State of Hawai'i for 28 years before his retirement in December 2024. Corey Shibata is survived by Lori, his wife of 22 years; daughters Kaylee (18) and Kelsie (13); father Wayne Shibata, stepmother Lisa and half-brother Kevin; mother Irene Okubo and stepfather Watson; brother Todd and sister-in-law Quynh; and grandmother Yin Chun Young. A celebration of life for Corey Shibata will be held at the St. Alban's Chapel at 'Iolani School on Feb. 1. Visitation with the family will begin at 3:30 pm, with the service at 4:30 pm.
