Daisy Chun Obituary

DAISY LOOK CHUN Daisy Look Chun passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023, at the golden age of 99 years to join her sweetheart Peter Say Jau Chun in heaven. Together they led amazing lives and were blessed with 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Through hard work, sacrifice, and determination, Peter and Daisy overcame their humble beginnings and gave their four daughters the most precious gifts of all - a loving home, high hopes and expectations for the future, and solid educations. While Peter worked his way up the ladder to become a successful insurance executive, Daisy was a secretary, realtor, and homemaker, teaching her four girls how to sew and bake pies with the flakiest crust. They traveled the world taking over 50 cruises and shared their love of travel by taking all their children and grandchildren on cruises to the Bahamas and Alaska. Throughout life, they were inseparable and enjoyed ballroom dancing, engagement in the Chinese community, and worshipping at the Community Church of Honolulu. Daisy's family members include her predeceased husband Peter Chun; predeceased siblings Durmond and James Look and surviving siblings Katherine Goo, Mary Jung, Loretta Hom, Korlo Look, and Wendy Yonamine; predeceased daughter Sandi Chun (Jeff Harris); and surviving daughters Debbie Haller (Paul), Coralie Chun Matayoshi (Ron), Corinne Kosaki (Randy); grandchildren Sara Harris (Troy Fegurgur), Amanda Jiggens (Chris), Peter Harris, Anjanel Haller (Vance Proszek), Sharine Horbacewicz (Keith), Scot Matayoshi (Jennifer), Kelly Matayoshi (Christina Filipp), Alana Matayoshi (Andrea Portillo), Erica Lee (Bobby Izuta), Christian Lee, and Reece Kosaki; and great-grandchildren Jude Fegurgur, Cassandrea Jiggens, Madisynn Joseph, Kaelyn Horbacewicz, Mason Matayoshi, Connor Matayoshi, Cameron Matayoshi-Filipp, and Nathaniel Izuta.
