Danny Hisao Obituary

DANNY KAZUMI HISAO 94, of Honolulu, passed away on July 20, 2025. He was born in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii on September 5, 1930. He was a devout member of the Tenrikyo Church, a retired veteran of the Army and Master Sergeant with the Hawaii Army National Guard where he was required to retire when he turned 60. After retiring from a career with over 42 years of service in the military, he became the Manager of the golf range at Hawaii Kai Golf Course where he finally retired at the age of 86. Danny is predeceased by his devoted wife of 66 years, Ellen Riyoko Hisao. Danny was the youngest son of Hyakutaro and the Reverend Ayano Hisao. He is predeceased by his brothers, Norman Nobuki Hisao and the Reverend Shigeki Hisao; his half-sister Ayako Onoue, half- brothers Wataru "Packy" Furukawa, Susumu Furukawa and Takumi Furukawa. Danny is survived by his sons Curtis Hisao and Blane Hisao; daughters, Ann Masaki and Stacy Hisao-Smythe; grandchildren, Mark, Jenna, Justin, Jolleen and Brenden; great-grandsons, Asher, Ezra and Killian. He is also survived by brother-in-law Charles (Sachiko) Kaneshiro; sisters-in-law, Ethel Serikaku, Carol Naipo, Lily Kaneshiro, Geri Kaita and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Hosoi Mortuary on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 4pm, Visitation at 3pm. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
