DEBORAH KRANSON Obituary

In Beloved Memory of DEBORAH LEI (WARREN) KRANSON Born on December 10, 1957, in Columbus, Georgia. Sadly, left us on June 17, 2024, at her home in Pahoa, Hawaii. Survived by husband - Scott "Scotty" Kranson; mother - Mary Elizabeth Low and Husband Jimmy Kong; daughter - Ashley Kranson and husband Bradley Kruse and grandchildren Maiah, Tyler and Alana. Sisters Donna and Deanna Warren; brothers Robert Warren II, Ronald Warren, Raymond Leon-Guerrero, John and Ray Thompson. Preceded in death by her father, Robert Eugene Warren and her sister, Luana Warren. Deborah attended Wahiawa Elementary where she was crowned May Day Queen in the sixth grade. The family moved from Wahiawa to Halawa Valley, where Deborah attended Saint Elizabeth Catholic School with her younger sisters and brothers. Eventually, she moved to California to live with her father, and she graduated from Salinas High School. She quickly adjusted to the Salinas way and ended up buying herself a low rider. Deborah was very adventurous and yearned to learn the Spanish language. So, she went abroad and immersed herself into the culture, living with a family in Mexico where no English was spoken. Deborah worked for the United States Postal Service for 38 years. She started on Maui, then to Oahu and later transferred to the Big Island where she and Scotty bought their fixer-upper plantation home, which she and Scotty rebuilt from the bottom up. After retiring from the USPS, she then studied to become a Certified Counselor for Medicare and enjoyed helping people. She also became a Red Cross volunteer and flew out to assist in Florida when Hurricane Ian hit. Working in her yard and planting beautiful flowers and exotic plants, was truly Deborah's loveeverything grew nicely by her touch. She even planted a lovely puakenikeni tree after her younger sister who passed away in 2018 and named it "Luana". That tree has since flourished. Date and Time of Service: Mass intention will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 7:30 am with refreshments to follow at Sacred Hearts Church Hall in Pahoa. Memorial with loved ones gathering on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Spencer Beach Park, Kawaihae, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
