In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie Hartzler, Van Albert Scott, and Roy David Scott.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman who cherished the thrill of big game hunting, having traveled to the Midwest, Alaska, and other regions to pursue elk, bear and deer. He enjoyed fishing for rockfish and flounder and was an active member of the Wild Turkey Federation of Delaware, the Elk Foundation, and the Nanticoke Sportsman's Club. His love for the outdoors led to the opening of Bows and Arrows, where he worked alongside of his wife for over 8 years. Larry was well know for his elaborate hunting & fishing stories that were always sure to captivate his audience.
