Remembering Dennis Y. Fujii with heartfelt aloha
I was fortunate to share memorable moments with Dennis at various events in Honolulu. His warmth, professionalism, and aloha spirit always shined and he was friendly with everyone.
A proud Kalani High graduate, Dennis dedicated his life to serving Hawai`i and his country. He was a long-time military and civilian public affairs officer, over 18 years as the U.S. Pacific Command´s Chief of Community Relations, more than 20 years with the Hawai`i Army National Guard, and as a volunteer photographer for Governor George Ariyoshi.
Dennis embodied service, humility, and connection. His grace and dedication touched so many lives across Hawai`i and beyond.
Mahalo nui, Dennis, for your friendship, your service, and the light you shared with all of us. You are missed.

I worked legislative affairs next to door to Dennis´ community affairs office in the old PACOM building from 1997 to 2000. Later on we stayed in touch via social media. Dennis knew everyone! But he never bragged on that fact. He was a wonderful person and colleague. Please accept my deepest condolences.
