Donald Fisher Obituary

DONALD P. FISHER Donald P. Fisher, 86, of Makakilo, Hawai'i, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, in the arms of his loving wife, and surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Don was born October 19, 1937, in Iron County, Missouri. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably as a Torpedoman-Advanced Undersea Weaponsman in the Navy's submarine force. Stationed at USN Submarine Base Pearl Harbor for a majority of his naval career, vessels he served on include the USS STERLET (SS 392), USS GREENFISH (SS 351) and USS SEADRAGON (SSN 584). Don retired in 1974 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer and then began a 24-year career at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, retiring as a nuclear tools mechanic to care for his wife. Don was a devote Catholic and member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Kapolei, HI. Donald was affectionately known as "Daddy" "Pops" "Daddy-O" "Papa Fisher" and "Chief". He is survived by the love of his life, soulmate and wife of 63 years, Clementina Salas Fisher; children Denise Fisher, Donald Fisher (daughter-in-law Toni Ahu-Fisher) and Michael Fisher (daughter-in-law Sharolyn Fisher); Grandchildren Thomas Dias, Dayna Stevens, Jasmine Olarti, James Dias, Taylor Fisher, Tristan Fisher, Michael Fisher, Anthony Ahu-Fisher and Donovan Ahu-Fisher; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Services on April 19, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Kapolei. Visitation 9:15 a.m. Eulogy 10:10 a.m. Mass 10:30 a.m. Burial services 1:00 p.m. Hawai'i State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
