DORA KRAUL Obituary

DORA KIM HEUNG LIU KRAUL February 19, 1923 - May 12, 2024 Born to Mary Yuk Lan Ho Liu and Man Seong Liu in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii. The third of six children: Robert, Sam (Barbara), Blossom (Walter Butler), Calvin (Lorrayne) & George (Marion). Dora loved life! She was an excellent cook, hostess, organizer, traveler and always impeccably dressed. Whatever her endeavor, she did it with careful thought and she did it well. Graduating from McKinley in 1941, she earned her Executive Secretary/Business certificate in business school then proceeded to become an executive secretary and then an administrator at Aloha Airlines; co-owner of Dorsyd Sight & Sound with beloved husband of 52 years, Sydney A. Kraul (deceased); real estate agent till retirement; and in her "spare" time travel agent. She never rested. She was deeply devoted to her church (The Parishes of St Clement & Holy Apostles Episcopal Church) holding leadership roles on many levels and ultimately made honorary Canon of the Cathedral of St Andrew, Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii. Dora, vivacious & curious, enjoyed engaging with people and she was an excellent conversationalist. She loved & cared for her friends & family. She is survived by her children with Clement C. Rickard (deceased): Jonathan A.L.W. (Micki) & Pamela K.L. Rickard Fern (Stephen Marcuccilli); Pam's daughter with C. Austin Fern, Brooke Kahealani Y.L. Fern & Brooke's sister, Alise Fern; hanai daughter Audrey Wilson (Jim); brother Dr. Calvin Y.Y. Liu, daughter-in-law, Diane Kraul (Syd, Jr. ) and many beloved nieces & nephews. Services will be held at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Hilo on Tuesday, June 4th at 11 am and on Friday, June 7th at The Parish of St. Clement in Honolulu at 10:30 am. No fl owers. Aloha dress.
