DOUGLAS WHEELER Obituary

DOUGLAS MILT WHEELER Douglas Milton "Milt" Wheeler, 83, of Honolulu, passed away on July 21, 2025. He was born on October 6, 1941, in Aurora, Illinois. Milt made his home in Hawaii beginning in 1963 with his wife, Dr. Linda Andrade Wheeler, where they raised three sons: Milton (Noi Schilling-Wheeler), Garrett (Michelle Johnson Wheeler), and Lance (Kimberly Morris Wheeler). He cherished time with his three beloved grandchildren who lived close by: Sierra Tiare Wheeler, Kula Ryan Wheeler, and Keira Elizabeth Wheeler. He was eagerly looking forward to seeing Sierra begin her master's degree at Yale University this fall; Kula entering his senior year at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa; and Keira, a senior at Sacred Hearts Academy, who had just returned from New York after attending the Vogue College Summer Program where she studied the business of fashion and interned at Cond? Nast Headquarters. Milt was the son of the late Dallas Eugene Wheeler and Inez Margaret Bridson Wheeler, and the brother of the late Judith Ann Wheeler and Robert Wheeler. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Diane Wheeler (Robert, deceased), along with their families. In Hawaii, Milt was embraced by his four Andrade sisters-in-law, who treated him as the brother they never had: Marie Achi (Roger Valencia), Janice Donahoo, the late Karen Stovall (Dwight), and Stacey Eaton (Cleigh, deceased). Milt's life was enriched by many other relatives and dear friends in California and Hawaii, all of whom helped make his life purposeful, fulfilling, and joyful. A Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 13, at St. Augustine by the Sea Church, followed by burial at Diamond Head Memorial Park at 12:30 pm. The family extends its deepest gratitude to all who supported Milt throughout his long health journey.
