DUANE CHAR Obituary

DUANE EARL CHAR Duane Earl Char, of Kaneohe, Hawaii, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 28, 2025 at the age of 67. Duane was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 5th, 1957, but grew up on the Big Island. He finished his bachelor's and master's degrees at Seattle Pacific University. He served in the United States Coast Guard and the United States Coast Guard Reserves as an officer. After several years of professional work, Duane found a passion in acting. As a stalwart member of the Hawaii acting community, Duane had roles in TV shows and movies in Hawaii over the course of twenty years. In his spare time he spent countless hours studying film techniques and contributing to the Hawaii film scene. He is survived by his wife, Linda, his son Lewis, and his sister Dana Hensarling. Duane will be remembered as a servant, a gym rat, a longtime Minnesota Vikings fan, and for his wisdom, his sense of duty, and his steadfast love for his family. Per Duane's wishes, there will be no public services.
