Edna Smith Obituary

Edna Smith passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2023, with her beloved children by her side. Edna, born on January 20, 1942, in Sylacauga, AL, was 81 years young at the time of her transitioning. Edna was a long-time resident of Vallejo, CA, originally moving in 1963 to reside with her aunt and eventually marrying and raising a beautiful family. Edna is survived by her husband Ned E. Smith; chil- dren, Antoinette Smith Williams and Jason E Smith; brothers Buddy Wilson of Detroit MI, and Edgar Wilson Jr. of Sylacauga AL; sisters Lilly Rhoden and Linda Harvey of Sylacauga AL; grandchildren Jason Daniels, Jamario Smith, Miles Williams and Jordan Williams; and multiple great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. - Edna was the quintessential homemaker known for her soulful meals with her macaroni and cheese, sweet potato pie and fried chicken being the family favorites. She was strong, spirited and fiercely committed to her family and loved ones. Edna was also a fun-loving per- son. She laughed easily, loved a good glass of expensive wine, listening to the blues, and spending time with her grandchildren. Edna will be dearly missed by her family, friends and community. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5th at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West 2nd Street, Beni- cia. Burial will be private.
