What a great man Ed was! We met Ed at the museum, a few hours after I got engaged to my wife on the Missouri.
Ed walked up behind us and asked if I wanted to know about a plane. We spent the next three hours with him and I will cherish that time forever.
Ed was a great man and he will be missed.

Ed was my dads commanding officer and lifelong friend. I did not have the chance to meet him but over the years I´ve heard wonderful stories about him.
He was a true patriot. I send my deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Our sincere condolences to the family of this wise, humble, heroic man. We are grateful for several opportunities to meet and befriend Ed who was my father's mentor, WWII commanding officer, and lifelong friend. In 2017, we were honored to volunteer with Ed at the Pearl Harbor Pacific Aviation Museum. His love for his family, country, preserving history, and commitment to peacekeeping was inspirational. He posed that day by his beloved "Stearman" plane. Thank you for your service, Ed, and may your spirit ever fly high. Pamela & John Montgomery

Ed,
Was an extension of our family. He served in WWII as the squadron commander in the same unit as my grandfather. Had Ed not grounded my grandfather at one point, I wouldn´t be here today. Unfortunately, that evening the bomber group never returned.
Over the years my parents and extended family stayed in touch and visited Ed numerous times. My wife, Michelle, and I visited Ed a few times as well and were surprised on one visit to attend the an anniversary event on Ford Island.
Ed was the best of a generation. We will cherish him as a person and all that he bestow upon us.
Love,
Tyler and Michelle Montgomery
