ELIZABETH DAILEY Obituary

ELIZABETH MURPH DAILEY 9 December 1918 3 May 2023 Elizabeth "Murph" Dailey, a remarkable soul who graced this world with her presence. Murph gently faded away with her son, Michael and his daughter-in-law Amanda holding her hands, at their longtime residence, she and her husband Fred Dailey built at Mokuleia. Murph was 104 years old. What a grand life she lived. She was born in Seattle, attended High School in Oxnard, and earned a scholarship to Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles. Her ambitions of becoming a doctor were put on hold during World War II when she met and married the love of her life, Fred Dailey, an officer in the army. They exchanged vows in Atlanta and embarked on a memorable honeymoon in Havana. Their son Michael was conceived on the Super Chief train, while hurtling across the vast expanse between Los Angeles and New York. Michael's arrival cemented the bonds of an extraordinary love story. Murph and Fred ultimately arrived on the Lurline where they launched the Waikikian Hotel and later the Hawaii Polo Club at Mokuleia. Yes, Murph played too. Murph possessed an ethereal beauty, her eyes shimmering like emeralds, captivating all who had the privilege of meeting her. She was a knockout and was beloved by everyone she met. Although her physical presence may have waned, the spirit of "Murph" Dailey shall forever linger, a reminder of the beauty that graces our lives even in the face of the setting sun. Murph is survived by her son Michael, his wife, Becca, her grandchildren, Devon and Mariah and their children Ikua, Isla, and Tadhg. Celebration of her life is scheduled for at the Hawaii Polo club at Mokuleia on July 1, 2023.
