Dr. Rodney Chang

May 28, 2024

Rodney, Ernest's eldest male nephew, and his wife, Erlinda, offer their condolences to the family.
"Uncle Wally" has always been one of my favorite uncles. Whether at the decades of Sunday extended family dinners at 11th and Pahoa Ave. or at his family residence on William Henry Road in Kaneohe, uncle always had the biggest smile for everyone. I remember too, as an impressionable youth, how intelligent uncle was. He was an engineer, the only of 8 siblings to earn a college degree. He was a role model that thought me the value of higher education. With such a booster from the previous generation, I managed to finally "get out of college" - after setting a Guiness Record (for the family!) of having earned 10 college degrees, including two doctorates. So let this be known that's a Chang record for us Americans. May Uncle Wally lay in peace. And when someday when we meet again, along with his spouse, my Aunt "Small" Margaret ("Big Margaret was the spouse of Uncle Ralph), I hope I finally can win a game of chess against the master! With loving thoughts, nephew Rodney Eiu Joon Chang, DDS, PhD
