Francine Koga Obituary

FRANCINE CHIYOKO KOGA Francine Chiyoko Koga passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on August 16, 2024, in Carmel, IN. Born January 10, 1925 in Hawaii, Francine spent most of her life in Honolulu and dedicated over 55 years as an accountant at the Kramer's Men's Store and Big and Tall Shop, only retiring in February of 2012. Her hobbies included wine tasting, Sudoku puzzles, Korean dramas, TV game shows, card games with her great-grandson Preston and watching his live theater performances from the audience. She is survived by: Kim Koga-Blair, her granddaughter/caregiver and her husband Jeff Blair, her daughter Susan Emura and son-in-law Michael; son Michael Koga and daughter-in-law Darene; grandchildren Michelle Echevary and husband Anson, Leighton Emura and wife Daynie Watanabe, Michael Nakata, Cher Davison, and Duayne Palacat and family; great-grandchildren Preston Blair and Layson Emura; sister Dorothy Nakagawa; and hanai-granddaughters Bonni Kawasaki, Kathy Masunaga and Kendra Wong. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Masaru Koga, her parents Hanayo and Hatsukichi Adachi, and brother Johnny Ogasawara. Private services were held at Shingon Shu Mission of Hawaii in Honolulu on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, led by Bishop Tsuru and Reverend Quinn. Contributions in Francine's memory can be made to Shingon Shu Mission of Hawaii, 915 Sheridan St, Honolulu, HI 96814. Her legacy of a long healthy life, wisdom and kindness will forever be remembered by those she leaves behind.
