Francis Higgins Obituary

FRANCIS LANI HIGGINS Francis Lani Higgins, 86, of Paauilo Mauka, HI, formerly of Oahu, passed away at home on 10/18/24. Born on 3/30/38 in Honolulu to Frank and Rose Higgins, he was a retired Honolulu Fire Dept. Captain and an Air Force Veteran. Francis was the heart of our family, and his Aloha, kindness, and generosity will forever echo in our lives. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Anthony Higgins (Suzanne), and is survived by his Beloved Wife of 62 years, Dianne Higgins. They met on a blind date in 1961 (Local boy meets haole girl). Son, Paul Francis Higgins; daughter, Lani (James) Avis. Grandchildren, Caprice, Bennett, Alana, and Marika, plus many nieces and nephews. Francis will be remembered for his love of flowers, plants, and golf. If you came for a visit, he would usually give you a flower or cutting to take home. Urn Committal at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) on 12/10/24 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at the Valley of the Temples in the main chapel with visitation from 12:00 - 12:30 with services to follow. A Celebration of Life will also occur on 12/14/24 at noon at the Higgins residence, 44-4635 Waikaalulu Road, Paauilo, 96776.
