Fred Araki Obituary

FRED KAZUYOSHI ARAKI Fred Araki, of Honolulu, but formerly of Wailuku, Maui, passed away peacefully under the care of Bristol Hospice and his caring and compassionate nurses. He was born on Maui, raised in Nashiwa Camp in upper Paia, subsequently lived in Wailuku, and eventually in Honolulu from 2021. With a degree in civil engineering from UH Manoa, Fred led the engineering division of the County of Maui Department of Public Works where he worked for 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, cheering on UH sports, tending to his garden, golfing, and immersing himself in painting. He is survived by his loving wife, Ann; daughter, Lynn Araki-Regan (Keith Regan); grandson, Riley Yoshio Regan; brother, Sam (of Wailuku); sister, Jane Sorensen (of South Pasadena, CA); 5 nieces; and 3 nephews. His Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Service at 11:00 a.m. The family requests no koden. Memorial donations may be made to Bristol Hospice-Hawaii or to Alzheimer's Association-Hawaii. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
