I never met FL, but I purchased two of his beautiful black-and-white photographs from a solo exhibition of his work at Tripton's American Cafe in the late 1980s or early 90s. They have graced my walls and been part of my life ever since -- masterful composition, brilliant use of natural light, amazing printing! They're among the best of photographic art pieces, anywhere, from the last half-century. Art collectors will miss his talent.
