On March 4, 2000 Gary and I exchanged our wedding vows.

Gary told me that it was "the most fun he ever had at a wedding."
It was not a traditional wedding.
We hired a bus with a driver that took us all over the island .
We started in Waikiki to pick up all family and friends and then
We traveled westbound to the ko´olina resort while enjoying
beverages and listening to the song "going to the chapel ".
We exchanged our vows in an area that overlooked a lagoon.
We were told afterward by security that we were at the wrong
lagoon and we could never get married there again. We said,
"No problem". Then back on the bus to the other side of the
Island ...still playing the song ..."going to the chapel" ...
to the beautiful ko´olau golf club where we held the reception .
After enjoying the beautiful scenery, good food, drinks and music by Dean and Dean.We then traveled to our good friends beautiful house for desserts. Thank you Don and Clo and Linda.

In the late hours of the night, we all got back on the bus
and returned home safely with the song in our heads.....?

Love you all for sharing that day with us ....

My Uncle Gary was a true gentleman and a scholar. He had a way of seeing the best in people, always leading with kindness and an open heart. His laugh was contagious, and his sense of humor could have you laughing out loud hysterically.

On the golf course, he was a natural-without a doubt, the best golfer I´ve ever played with. He helped me improve my game and made every round unforgettable. He even had two holes-in-one!-an achievement most golfers never accomplish in a lifetime. And when it came to the water, he was just as skilled. I never got to see him competing in diving but I heard stories. He also knew his way around a boat like it was second nature, effortlessly navigating as if he was born to be on the water.

I´ll never forget the time we were out whale watching on Aunt Margaret and Uncle Gary´s boat, cracking whale jokes. Just as Gary delivered his punchline, a whale popped its head above the water about 40 feet in front of the bow and looked directly at him. Aunt Margaret chimed in, "I don´t think he liked your joke, Gary." We all burst into laughter. I will certainly miss our daytime and sunset boat cruises-especially the early days when we´d spend the whole day at Kaneohe Sandbar with friends and family.

I always looked up to Uncle Gary, not just for his skills but for the way he lived his life-fully, passionately, and without regret. He had an incredible gift for storytelling. Whenever he shared his life experiences, I hung on to every word, learning, laughing, and appreciating the wisdom he passed down.

Uncle Gary left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His spirit, his laughter, and his love for life will always stay with me. I will cherish the memories and the lessons he taught me, and I can only hope to carry on his legacy in my own way.

Rest easy, Uncle Gary. You will always be missed and forever remembered!
Your nephew,
Kevin

I grew up with Gary in Ferndale, Michigan. We were close friends from second grade until now. We went from second grade to high school to college at MSU and even our MBA´s together. We were In Delta Tau Delta together and often roomed together. Everyone loved Gary. He was also very intelligent a very good athlete, especially golf and diving. He was the most loyal friend anyone could have. His dad and mom were wonderful to me growing up. And Gary´s older brother Glen was a great guy too. He worked on my campaigns. Once Gary served as an officer in the Navy, he was sold on Hawaii. We could hardly get him to visit the mainland. We stayed in touch regarding MSU sports. As kids he was a fanatic for pizza and popcorn. I understand that never changed. I was always remember Gary´s loyal friendship. And the respect he paid to our friends and acquaintances. Everyone who knew Gary Knight thought he was a special person. I speak for all of our classmates and fraternity brothers. Our heart goes out to Margaret. Thank you for loving and caring for Gary. Gary was such a great person. I loved his laugh and the time we spent on the boat. He and the Hawaii team welcomed me as their new young manager. So many wonderful memories. Margaret our thought and prayers are with you. Aloha and RIP Gary
