Gelene Moore Edwards

November 3, 1931 - October 6, 2025

Gelene Moore Edwards, 93, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Gelene was born on November 3, 1931, to the late Ira Steve and Alberta Moore.

Gelene attended Fort Robinson Baptist Church, where she was very active and loved singing in the choir and working in the nursery. She was happiest when working at her church and helping her friends. Many may remember her working at Nettie Lee and Sobel's clothing stores.

In addition to her parents, Gelene was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ralph Edwards; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include son, Steven Edwards; daughters, Kim Edwards and Carol Hubbard (Jeff); grandchildren, Blake Dingus (Chloe), Brayden Dingus (Samantha); great-grandchild, Bonnie Ray Dingus; and several nieces and nephews.

The Gelene Edwards family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Tim Vaughn officiating.

A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Chapel Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Gelene's name, made to the charity of their choice.
