GERVACIO BALAIS Obituary

GERVACIO BASIONG CALAOAGAN BALAIS SR. Gervacio "Basiong" Calaoagan Balais Sr., of Waipahu, passed away at the age of 79 on November 18, 2022. He was born in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and was predeceased by his wife Artemia Balais, parents Ismael Sr. & Marcelina Balais, brother Orlando Balais & sister Alegria Manzanillo. Basiong was a retired heavy construction carpenter who worked for 40 years in the local construction industry with Hawaiian Dredging & Construction Co., Nordic Construction & Mortenson Construction. He was a dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend to the many that knew him. He is survived by sons, Gervacio "Bobby" (Eloise) Balais Jr. & Glenn (Loi) Balais; daughter, Gayleen (Glenn Oshiro) Balais; grandchildren, Gabriel & Matthew Balais, Kylie Rie Oshiro-Balais & Quincy Balais; brothers, Ismael Balais Jr. & Bernard Balais; sister, Felicidad Juan. The entire Balais Ohana is extremely grateful for all the love & support from family and friends during this time and comforted to know that Basiong was loved by many. Visitation: 5:00 p.m.; Wake Service: 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Mililani Memorial Park's Mauka Chapel. Mass Visitation: 9:30 a.m.; Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church in Waipio Gentry. Burial: 12:30 pm at Mililani Memorial Park Cemetery.
