GLADYS KALAMA Obituary

In Loving Memory of GLADYS MIULAN CHU KALAMA Gladys Miulan Chu Kalama, born on October 29, 1939, in Hilo, Hawaii, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Raymond Gom Man Chu and Clara Kamealoha Ah Hee. Gladys met her sweetheart, Frank K. Kalama, while attending the Church College of Hawaii and graduated in the inaugural four-year class. She dedicated nearly four decades to teaching in the Ko'olauloa school district and later served a mission in the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Frank K. Kalama, Jr., and is survived by her children: Lei Cummings (John), Frank Kalama (Tauariki), Roxane Latu (Peni), and Keawe Kalama, along with 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Laie, Hawaii Stake Center, 55-415 Iosepa Street, Lai'e, HI 96762.
