Gladys Nagamine Obituary

GLADYS YOSHIKO NAGAMINE 92, of Makakilo and formerly of Mililani, passed away on December 9, 2025. She was an U. S. Army NAF pre-school teacher at Leilehua Child Development Center on Schofield Barracks from 1974 until she retired in 1992. She later worked as a jewelry associate at various jewelry stores, and then as a manager at Jewel Box on Kona Street, where she retired at age 80. She sold the family house in Mililani Town in 2012, and moved in with her son and daughter-in-law in Kailua for several years. In 2019, she then moved to Poulsbo, WA to live with her youngest daughter and husband. In 2021, her daughter and husband moved back to Oahu, so she could be closer to the rest of the family. She always said how fortunate she was to have such a wonderful life. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and Tutu, who will truly be missed by her family. Predeceased by her husband, Yasutoyo Nagamine who died in June 1982, Gladys is survived by her son, Karl Nagamine (Jill), and daughters, Irene Yim (Shane) and Jolene McGarvey (David), three granddaughters, and four great grandchildren.
